READFIELD (WGME) -- The father of Central Maine man killed in a crash says he can't begin to express the emptiness he feels.

The Kennebec County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Ethan Russell, from Wayne, died when the car he was in went off the road in Readfield Friday night.

Officials identified the driver as 21-year-old Tyler Goucher.

They say a second passenger, 21-year-old Richard Hall Jr., went to the hospital with injuries.

Officers say it appears speed and alcohol played a role in the crash.

They also say no one was wearing a seatbelt.

Ethan Russell's father, Nathan, posted on Facebook about his loss.

"You were always upbeat, smiling, laughing…you were a big man...had to be to carry that beautiful heart around!"
