PORTLAND (WGME) -- A Hiram man, who police say is responsible for a deadly crash in Windham that killed a mother and severely injured her daughter, will serve six years in prison.

Twenty-nine-year-old Philip Macri pleaded guilty in court Friday after a fatal crash in December of 2016.

Police say Macri was driving his pickup truck under the influence when he crossed the center line and slammed into another pickup truck head-on.

Police say 38-year-old Rebecca Perry was killed instantly and her 15-year-old daughter suffered severe injuries.

Police say they found drugs inside Macri’s truck and toxicology results show had marijuana, cocaine and antidepressants in his system at the time of the crash.

Macri pleaded guilty to assault, OUI, weapon charges and manslaughter.

He was sentenced to at least six years in prison, six years of probation and more than $3,000 in fines. The judge also recommended his license be suspended for life.
