Kennebunkport residents prepare for George HW Bush's return
KENNEBUNKPORT (WGME) – A spokesperson for former President George H.W. Bush confirms that he plans on returning to his Maine home sometime next week.
The news comes after a recent hospitalization.
It's tradition at this point, Kennebunkport residents say they’re sad Barbara won’t be joining him this summer, but say they they're thankful to have him back, especially after all he's gone through.
The news of the former President’s return comes a few weeks after he was hospitalized for a blood infection following the funeral of his wife Barbara Bush.
His spokesperson says the 93-year-old is apparently well enough to travel to Maine to spend some time in the state he loves so much.
Currently George H.W. Bush uses a wheel chair and electric scooter to get around due to his form of Parkinson's and other illnesses.
Even so, some of his longtime friends say they aren't shocked he'll return.
George H.W.’s spokesperson says right now they're figuring out what day he'll arrive here in Maine next week.
