PORTLAND (WGME) -- Shots rang out in three Knox County towns, with bullets hitting at least two homes.

Tim Jones is angry with whoever's been driving around in the middle of the night, firing guns outside homes, with families inside sleeping.

He says no one was inside when two shots went through the front window of his in-laws’ home, but he fears if this doesn't stop, someone could get hurt.

"One of these times, gonna be someone getting up in the middle of the night, just getting a drink of water or something, and happened to be standing there and take a bullet," Jones said.

Investigators believe the shots are being fired from a vehicle.

Street signs and mailboxes were also shot up Friday.

Neighbors also heard shots outside a daycare in Friendship.

Anyone with information about this is asked to call the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
