Madbury rollover snaps telephone pole in DUI accident

MADBURY, New Hampshire (WGME) -- Early Sunday morning, a DUI rollover in New Hampshire snapped a telephone pole and left the car tangled in electrical wires.

The car was traveling northwest around 4:50 a.m. when the driver lost control and struck the telephone pole at 43 Pudding Hill Road in Madbury.

Police found the vehicle on its roof, tangled in electrical wires, and a snapped telephone poll hanging across the roadway.

Police arrested the driver, Brendan McKenna, 20, of Madbury, for driving under the influence.

McKenna did not sustain any serious injuries as a result of the crash.

Due to the damaged poll that area of Pudding Hill Road was shut down for over 5 hours, leaving area homes and businesses without power.
