Maine food truck returns to Portland after international success
PORTLAND (WGME) -- A new food truck will be hitting the streets of Portland this summer.
The Cousins Maine Lobster food truck will be returning to Maine after finding sweet success on the West Coast.
Cousins Maine Lobster started with two cousins and a simple idea, to share Maine’s favorite seafood with those who've never traveled to Vacationland.
This truck hit the streets of Los Angeles back in 2012, and since then, Cousins has just exploded.
Thursday the cousins celebrated their success and their return to Maine.
Cousins Sabin Lomac and Jim Tselikis started their business with just one food truck, serving up Maine lobster rolls on the West Coast. After receiving an investment on the popular show “Shark Tank,” and lots of hard work, the business has grown to an international franchise with 26 trucks.
The original truck that started it all will be hitting the streets of Portland this summer bringing about 5-10 jobs to the city.
Tselikis says this homecoming really means they're coming full circle on this wild ride.
