PORTLAND (WGME) - Adulting School is a new concept that caters to millennials, and founders say it’s becoming a hit.

Adulting is an 8-letter verb that has hundreds of people questioning if they have the basic life skills to take care of themselves, or if they need a little extra help.

That is where Rachel Weinstein and Katie Brunelle come in with the Adulting School.

"As opposed to a class where you might learn trigonometry or chemistry or something like that, let’s have classes where we talk about, like home ec, but this is the modern version," Weinstein said.

Weinstein, a local therapist, and Brunelle, an educator of 13 years, noticed the same thing. The people they were treating and teaching were stressed out about life management skills, so they've created a school that hosts classes all around Portland.

The $5 events are scattered throughout the week and broadcast live on the school's social media pages.

Soon, they'll launch an online school.

Right now, people are shamelessly signing up in hopes of becoming what Weinstein and Brunelle call an "adultier adult."

On Monday, CBS 13 will talk to millennials about what they think of the concept.
