MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (WPEC) - Twelve inmates escaped from an Alabama prison Sunday. On Tuesday night, one of them was captured in Martin County.

Brady Andrew Kilpatrick, 24, was taken down by law enforcement just after 7 p.m. at a home on SE Hobart Street.

Deputies from the Martin County Sheriff's Office say Kilpatrick was the last of the 12 inmates captured, and the only one who made it out of Walker County, Alabama.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office announced his capture on Facebook, saying Kilpatrick had been unaware that law enforcement was surrounding the community in which he was hiding out.

News outlets nationwide reported the inmates' escape, and the Walker County Sheriff's Office said Kilpatrick and the other inmates took advantage of a new guard by using peanut butter to conceal an exit door sign. The guard let them out through an exit door accidentally.

The other 11 inmates were captured within 12 hours of the initial escape.
