PELHAM, New Hampshire (WGME) - A man is accused of dragging a police officer with his car and nearly hitting another in Pelham, New Hampshire.

Pelham Police say they were first called to a home on Birch Lane Tuesday to move Jon Brad James Jr. who had illegally parked his car on the property.

They say James was asleep or passed out in his car when the officers approached.

When he was woken up, police asked him to get out of the car and instead he put his car into drive.

Video shows one officer trying to get the keys out of the ignition to stop James from driving off.

With the officer's arm in the car, James steps on the gas and accelerates through the front lawn.

A second officer is nearly hit as James quickly drives away, blowing smoke into the air and tearing up the lawn.

Police caught James later Tuesday in Massachusetts.
