Opinion: Workforce development and job creation are above politics

(Sinclair Broadcast Group)

Recently, President Trump signed a bill into law that passed with bipartisan support in Congress and strengthens our nation’s workforce. This law empowers state and local communities to receive and distribute federal funds to help more Americans enter the workforce, well prepared to fill those jobs which are in high-demand.

The administration is taking education and job training very seriously.

President Trump also signed an Executive Order which establishing an advisory board of CEOs and various government officials who will advise the president on how to best help Americans obtain those foundational skills they need to succeed in today’s workforce.

This is all a part of the Trump administration’s plan for our economy. They see tax reform, deregulation and workforce development as three pillars of their platform for success.

So far this formula has worked and achieved real results for the American people. The economy is growing, our GDP hit 4.1 percent growth in the second quarter of 2018, the fastest pace in nearly four years.

Here's The Bottom Line: Job creation, workforce development and economic prosperity are not political issues – they are human issues.

This administration, with help from Congress of course, has found ways to put politics aside and focus on what’s important: unleashing the American economy and finally putting the American workers first.
