A Texas contestant on The Voice left two coaches very impressed after performing a Selena Quintanilla classic, "Tú Sólo Tú," for his blind audition.
On the NBC singing competition, "The Voice," contestants compete for a $100,000 cash prize, plus a recording contract with Universal Music Group. The coaches are Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, Chance the Rapper, and Blake Shelton.
Marcos Covos, 30, was born and raised in Odessa, Texas and moved to Dallas when he was 27. He’s always had a passion for Ranchera music and began singing when he was just a kid.
During his heartfelt performance, Clarkson turned first, and Shelton followed near the end of Covos' audition.
"I love when people come out here and sing in Spanish. It's like my favorite language to listen to," Clarkson said. "It sounds so beautiful, so passionate. I'm such a fan of you."
Shelton tried to convince the Texan to choose him but ultimately, Covos ended up picking Kelly and shared the news on Instagram on being proud to be on "Team Kelly."
