Bad weather causes deadly crash in Winthrop

WINTHROP (WGME) – A man was killed in a crash caused by the bad weather in Winthrop.

It happened on Route 202 near Horseshoe Road around 11:39 Wednesday morning.

Winthrop police say a pick-up headed west lost control and skidded into the oncoming lane, colliding with a flatbed truck.

Police say the pick-up's passenger, 24-year-old Connor King of Mechanic Falls was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pick-up, and two people in the flatbed were taken to the hospital.

The accident is still under investigation.
