Baxter Brewing helps raise money for Travis Mills Foundation
LEWISTON (WGME) – There's a new brew in town, and it's making a difference for veterans.
Wednesday night, Baxter Brewing in Lewiston unveiled a new beer at a special event to benefit the Travis Mills Foundation.
The beer was actually brewed in part by Travis and his dad.
This is "Dad's Week" at the Travis Mills Retreat, as the organization brings in fathers who are helping to care for their wounded sons or daughters.
Mills, a veteran and quadruple amputee, says this project has been just plain fun.
“I don't really drink a lot of beer or a lot of crafts, but the one I do like to try is blondes, so they made a blonde concoction here, a blonde brew, and I think it's gotten a lot of buzz, lot of excitement around it, I know people around the nation keep asking how they can get their hands on it, and we're excited to be here tonight for it!" Mills said.
They raised $11,000 for the Travis Mills Foundation, $1,000 over the goal.
Baxter Brewing is also celebrating its brand new 5,000 square-foot taproom expansion.
