Driver charged with OUI after allegedly hitting Westbrook police cruiser

WESTRBOOK (WGME) -- A man has been charged with operating under the influence after crashing into a marked Westbrook police cruiser Thursday morning.

Police say Officer Kipp Bleicken was responding to a report of a man passed out in his car on William Clarke Drive around 3 a.m. when a vehicle crossed the centerline and hit Bleicken’s marked cruiser.

Officer Bleicken suffered minor injuries. Both vehicles sustained substantial damage.

The driver, 29-year-old Christian Yannick Levry, of Westbrook, was charged with operating under the influence, reckless conduct, and aggravated assault.

Levry is being held at the Cumberland County Jail.

He was convicted of OUI in April of 2017, according to police.
