YORK (WGME) -- Police say a drunk driver caused a three-vehicle crash in York on Wednesday.
The chain reaction crash happened on Route 1 near Old Post Road.
Police say 18-year-old Ethan Bald, who was driving a green Subaru, had stopped and signaled to turn left on to Squire Lane. A green Toyota, driven by 53-year-old Michelle Butler, stopped behind Bald to wait for the vehicle to turn.
A third vehicle, a black Toyota pickup truck driven by 38-year-old Sarah Reeck, of Wells, then crashed into Butler’s vehicle, causing her vehicle to hit Bald’s, according to police.
Police say Reeck’s truck struck Butler’s car at a high speed with no evidence that she attempted to stop or avoid the crash.
The force of the crash entangled all three vehicles which then all slid north to a final resting location near the intersection of Mill Ridge Lane, according to police.
Bald and Reeck were not injured in the crash. Butler suffered minor injuries.
Reeck was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor, driving to endanger, following too close, and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
She was taken to the York County Jail where her bail was set at $160.
