FALMOUTH (WGME) – Falmouth school officials are warning parents about a whooping cough outbreak.
Over the last two weeks, school officials say they have seen four confirmed cases of pertussis at Falmouth High School.
The CDC says that is enough to consider it an outbreak.
Pertussis is spread through coughing and sneezing.
Symptoms include cold-like symptoms, then progress to more intense coughing fits.
School officials tell parents to make sure they and their children are up to date on vaccines.
