FARMINGTON (WGME) – The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says a man left his wife and children in a vehicle while he fled from deputies Wednesday night in Farmington.

Deputies say they spotted a vehicle driving erratically on Fairbanks Road around 10 p.m.

A deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver refused to stop.

Deputies say, at one point, the driver suddenly turned into a driveway at such a high rate of speed that a tire came off its rim.

As the deputy pulled in behind the vehicle in the driveway, the driver got out and fled into the woods.

Deputies say the driver left his wife and children behind in the vehicle.

Deputies and a K-9 tracked and located the driver, 24-year-old Christopher Tracy, of Farmington, in the woods.

Tracy was arrested and charged with operating after suspension, endangering the welfare of a child, failing to stop for an officer and driving to endanger.
