PORTLAND (WGME) -- Some afternoon and evening rain and mountain snow showers are on the way for St. Patrick’s Day in Maine.
Sunshine and mild temps return Saturday, and then we’re chilly again Sunday.
More sun on the way next week.
St. Patrick's Day doesn’t look too bad, but there will be some wet weather.
We’ll see cloudy skies through the day with highs reaching the upper 30s and low 40s.
A round of rain and mountain snow showers are likely as we head into Friday evening and overnight.
Snow accumulations up to 4” expected in the high elevations.
Rain comes to an end Friday night. Skies quickly clear out for Saturday.
Mild temperatures make a return as well, highs will be in the middle and upper 40s.
Sunday looks much colder, with mostly overcast skies and highs only in the lower and middle 30s.
Winds will also be gusty, and we will see a few flurries or snow showers.
Sunny skies return heading into next week, highs will be in the 40s Monday through next Wednesday with lots of sun.
Next widespread wet weather chance arrives next Thursday.
