Lobster experts flock to Maine for conference
PORTLAND (WGME) – More than 200 lobster experts from all over the world are spending some time in the state that's famous for catching the tasty delicacy.
This week, oceanographers, biologists, lobstermen and fishery managers are taking part in the "International Conference and Workshop on Lobster Biology and Management."
Those attending are sharing ideas and learning about everything lobster.
Maine landed the conference in 2014 when those attending chose where they'd like to meet next.
It's the second time the U.S. has ever hosted the event.
It's the first time in New England.
Last year, the state's fishermen caught more lobster than any other year recorded.
