LIVERMORE (WGME) -- A Chesterville man and a 12-year-old boy were injured Saturday when the snowmobiles they were driving collided in Livermore, according to spokesman for the Maine Warden Service Cpl. John MacDonald.

The crash happened around 1:25 p.m. on Round Pond.

MacDonald said 44-year-old Shawn Soucy was operating a 2003 Ski-Doo Renegade 800 and the 12-year-old boy was operating a 2008 Yamaha FX Nitro 1000 when they collided.

The boy and Soucy were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

The boy suffered possible internal injuries, and Soucy suffered leg injuries, according MacDonald.

The crash is under investigation, but it “appears that speed and inattention may have contributed to the crash,” according to MacDonald.
