NORTHFIELD, NH (WGME) -- New Hampshire State Police say one of their troopers was assaulted while trying to arrest a woman for DUI Saturday morning.
At around 2:10am on Saturday, a state trooper was monitoring traffic on Interstate 93, when he noticed a vehicle without any lights on and the vehicle stopping in the travel lane on the on-ramp. The trooper then stopped the car shortly after.
The driver of the vehicle is being identified as Vanessa L. Hall, 39, of Laconia, NH. After an investigation, the trooper placed Hall under arrest for driving under the influence.
While the arrest was taking place, Hall resisted and kicked the trooper in the hand.
Hall was released on bail and personal recognizance. Hall is being charged with driving under the influence, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
Hall is scheduled to appear in Franklin District Court on April 10th.
