Scam targets Maine veterans

The Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services says vets and their family members are getting fraudulent emails asking for their information and requesting payments.

The bureau says these emails are disguised as coming from organizations like the Department of Defense.

But there's one crucial discrepancy.

These scam emails come with a “.aol " domain instead of the usual ".gov" at the end of the address.

The bureau says to be alert of who is actually sending the emails you're opening.
