Suspicious death in Bangor ruled homicide

Bangor police on Wednesday were investigating the suspicious death of an adult male who lived at 40 Second St. (Judy Harrison | BDN)

BANGOR (WGME) -- Bangor Police say a suspicious death of man has been ruled a homicide.

The body of a man was found dead around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in an apartment at 40 Second Street, according to police.

Police identified the victim as 51-year-old Israel Lewis.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday morning in Augusta at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and determined Lewis’s death was a homicide.

Police say there appears to be no threat to the public.
