PORTLAND (WGME) -- Organizers of Carnaval Maine say more than 10,000 people attended last week's events in the old port.
It was the third annual winter celebration, but the first time the event was held on commercial street, outside of Dimillo's on the water.
The CEO of Shamrock Sports and Entertainment , which produces the event, says visitors from 23 states and Canada came to the festival.
He says the event also brought in an estimated $4.3 million in economic impact to greater Portland.
The agency says they plan to work with Carnaval de Quebec next year and grow the event.
