BURLINGTON, VT. (WGME) -- A Vermont man, who is accused of kidnapping a woman and her child in New Hampshire and later sexually assaulting the woman, will face a judge on Tuesday.
Police say 41-year-old Everett Simpson left a Bradford drug abuse treatment center on Jan. 4 and drove to Manchester, New Hampshire.
He then allegedly forced the pair into his car at the Mall of New Hampshire and then drove them to back to Vermont.
It was there that police say Simpson forced the woman to pay for a hotel room where he sexually assaulted her.
The mother and child eventually escaped and called police, who later found and arrested Everett in Pennsylvania.
The federal court calendar says Simpson is due to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge John Conroy in Burlington on Tuesday.
